Hello Everyone!!

April 14, 2010
Hi Everyone,

I wanted to contact everyone on our email list to let you know that there will be a few changes coming very soon - tomorrow as a matter of fact! First and foremost, I've chosen to further my education. I will be attending evening classes and therefore will need to close the shop at 4:30pm to enable me to get to where I need to be for class. Consequently, I will also be opening an hour earlier during the week. So the new hours at the shop beginning Thursday, April 15 will be:

Tuesday - Friday 10am - 4:30pm
Saturday 10am - 3:00pm
Sunday & Monday Closed

Second, I'm downsizing a bit. As you probably know, Infinity Beads occupies two retail spaces, the shop space and the additional space next door that we have used as a classroom and workshop where I make all our jump rings. We really only "use" the space once a week if we have a class and I want to move the workshop to my home. So it just makes economic sense to save on rent and utilities by giving up that space. I'm also considering mostly private classes that will be set up at your and my convenience to learn what you want to learn.
Also, as most of you know, I have a little business seperate from the shop. feMaille is a line of chain maille kits and bulk packaged enameled copper jump rings. Sarah and I have vended at several bead shows and have done well enough to make me want to pursue the show circuit which means a few more weekends away. I am also expanding the line to include several new kits. Additionally, one of our chain maille bracelets will be featured in the Summer issue of Bead Unique magazine which is very exciting.

DOUBLE VIKING KNIT BRACELET *

This is a two part class. The regular Viking knit class has been so successful that we decided to spice it up a little. This class is great for the beginner or for the person that wants to take Viking Knit one step further. In this class you will learn the basics of the Double Viking Knit and watch it transform from a boring, not so attractive tube to an oxidized piece of finished jewelry that looks like it came from the pages of an expensive catalogue. It is truly fascinating to do. We will be incorporating beads and a little wire work into this one.

Instructor: Sarah

Class Fee:$40 + Kit $30 (wire & ends) + beads to be picked out before day of class

Sat., March 6  • 11-12 pm  •  Part 1
Sat., March 20  • 11 - 12:30 pm  •  Part 2

ORBITAL CHAIN MAILLE *

This beginning skill level bracelet is a great introduction to chain maille. The weave is easy to catch on to and because the rings are large it doesn’t take very long to finish.

Please bring your own tools for this class. You will need two pair of chain nose pliers preferably one is bent chain nose

Instructor: Chris
Class Fee:$30 + Kit ($35 for 7” --- $40 for 8”) + clasp

Sat., March 27  •  10-12pm

PMC - SILVER or BRONZE CLAY *

You choose your type of clay.

Silver or bronze - you choose. In this class, you will learn the basics of rolling, shaping, texturing and setting stones. You may make a pendant, earrings or charms… be creative with your finished project. Due to the firing time of bronze clay (about 8 hours start to finish), you will not be able to take your piece home with you; it will need to be picked up after it is fired. Silver clay will be finished the day of class. You will be responsible for bringing your own tools. A materials list will be provided and you must let us know at least two weeks prior to class what materials/tools you need so they can be ordered for you. It is strongly recommended that silver and bronze tools not be combined. At the very least your tools need to be thoroughly cleaned in between uses.

Instructor: Sarah
Class Fee:

Silver Class Fee: $85 + tools (must be ordered at least 2 weeks in advance of class)
Bronze Class Fee: $65 + tools (must be ordered at least 2 weeks in advance of class)

We will discuss tools and different stringing material. You will not only learn how to finish jewelry using crimps, but also how to finish other stringing material such as leather or silk cord.

Instructors: Chris

VARIGATED CABLE BRACELET*

This bracelet works up quickly so it would be great for a quick gift. Change the look just by changing the type, size and color of beads.

WORKING WITH WIRE I *

We’ve revamped our beginning wire class. We thought it would be nice for you to leave with an actual piece of jewelry, so we’ve put together a kit for you. You will learn all the skills you need to complete a charm bracelet using beads, head pins, jump rings, seed beads, charms, and crystals. If you do not complete the bracelet in the time allotted, you will be able to complete it at home. Tools provided.
